2015 D3 Track & Field Nationals Day 1 Re-Cap

What a fantastic day of track and field for the Augustana Vikings out in Canton, New York for the 2015 Division III Men’s and Women’s Track & Field National meet.

Sunny skies, deep competition, and a stiff breeze all had their punches with today’s competitors. In the end, 2 individuals and teams make their way into Saturday’s Finals with noteworthy times.

4x100m – Men’s

At 2:30pm CST the Augie men took the track and finished 7th in their heat which was still good enough for 9th place overall and a qualifying spot for Saturday’s meet at 12:20pm CST. Their time was 41.45.

4ooH – Women’s

3:20pm – Annie Martines laid it all on the track as she sprinted her way to a 14th place finish overall with a time of 1:03.00.

400H – Men’s

3:35pm – David Voland glided down the runway (avoiding 10 obstacles) to qualify himself for finals in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.09. He will run Saturday at 2:30pm CST.

200m – Men’s

4:05pm – David Devore in Heat 2 won his heat with a time of 21.42 and qualified to run Saturday at 2:55 CST.

4:08 pm – Keith Cline in Heat 3 placed 5th in his heat (running into a stiff wind of +3.9) and placed 12th overall with a time of 21.562!

4x400m Men’s Relay

6:55pm – Coming in with the fastest time in the nation at 3:10.25, the Augustana relay team easily qualifies for Saturday’s finals in a time of 3:13.49. The 4x400m Relay final will be at 4:00pm CST on Saturday, May 23, 2015.
